Taxi driver fatally shot on Golden Highway in Johannesburg

A taxi driver has been shot and killed while driving along Golden Highway in Evaton, south of Johannesburg.
SAPS says the taxi driver was approached by a white Polo vehicle with an unknown number of occupants that fired shots at his minibus.
He was declared dead on scene.
A case of murder has been opened.
Gauteng Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says they cannot confirm whether the incident is related to taxi violence.
“The police will be investigating a case of murder after a man was shot multiple times. It is reported that, the victim was driving a taxi along Golden Highway Road when a white Polo vehicle with an unknown number of occupants fired shots at his taxi. The victim was declared dead on the scene and no suspects were arrested. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage and police investigations are under way.”
