Road users on Free State’s N5 warned about possible flooding


The Free State Road Incident Management System (RIMS, has issued a flood warning for road users travelling on the N5 over the Sandspruit, past Paul Roux towards Senekal.
Heavy rainfall is expected over the weekend and drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution.

Affected area: Free State and North West

RIMS Chairperson Sipho Towa has advised motorists to avoid driving through flooded areas if possible, reduce speed and increase following distance.
For emergency assistance road users can report incidents or flooding to Free State RIMS WhatsApp on +27 66 444 4164 or national emergency number 112 to provide location pin, picture and description.
