Julius Mkhwanazi testimony postponed following mother’s death

The testimony at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria of suspended Ekurhuleni Deputy Police Commissioner Julius Mkhwanazi has been moved to 14th April 2026 following the death of his mother.
Mkhwanazi’s testimony was scheduled to resume before the Commission on Monday.
Evidence leader, Advocate Mahlape Sello, says, “We are persuaded that it’s only appropriate to give him sufficient space to attend to matters relating to the funeral as a very close member of the family. And as regards his possible appearance on Monday, and on this I go off the fact that the commissioners would appreciate that following a funeral of someone so close, certain rituals must be performed.”
