All boots on the ground for Easter road safety: Creecy

Transport Minister Barbara Creecy says law enforcement officers will be on the ground this Easter Weekend.
The Minister was speaking at the Spruitview off-ramp of the N3 Highway in Gauteng, where she officially launched the 2026 Easter Road Safety Campaign.
The campaign forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote responsible behaviour and reduce road crashes during the Easter travel period.
Creecy says road safety must be prioritised to ensure that all road users reach their destinations safely.
“We have mobilised all forces throughout the country, from small local traffic departments, Metropolitan Police provincial traffic and the South African police services, and all of these courses are being coordinated through the national road safety steering committee, and that safety committee doesn’t just work over the festive period, it is now working 365 days a year.”
