Police in Masindi have 8 suspects in their custody in connection with different murder cases.
This was revealed by assistant commissioner of police Damlie Nachuha Regional police commander Albertine north in her office on Tuesday morning.
Nachuha identified one of the cases as for the two children who disappeared on 25th of December 2025 Alinaitwe Sumaya 3 years and Pricilar Mubeja 6 years children to one identified as Doreen immaculate Ayesiga resident of kibanja village, Kimengo subcounty Masindi district.
Nachuha says the children disappeared on 25th of December 2025 and their bodies discovered on 26 boxing Day.
The officer says 5 suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder and they are in police custody at masindi central police and investigations are on going.
She also revealed another case that was reported as for disappearance of juvenile son to Misach Katusabe Mulindua and Jane Kanyeginya aged 3 years.
It’s alleged the juvenile disappeared from their home in Isagara Kiryanjuci village in Bikonzi subcounty Masindi district on 27th of December 2025 at around 9am .
Nachuha says police was able to trace the number of the phone that the juvenile had disappeared withadding that after tracking police was able to locate it and responded where the juvenile was recovered in sugarcane plantation.
She says the child has been taken for treatment and is positively responding to treatment.
Nachuha adds that police has been able to arrest 3 suspects in connection to the case and they are in custody to help police in their investigation.
The officer says even the phone was recovered in the home of the suspect and police is yet to get in touch with the parents to confirm whether that is the actual phone which the juvenile had disappeared with.
