Thomas Tayebwa has urged the Kigezi inter-religious Leaders through their platforms to sensitize Ugandans to stop partitioning their Land into small pieces among their children but rather make it more productive as a family to create wealth.Hon. Tayebwa made the remarks on Monday, November, 17, 2025, after the Bench marking tour at Mr. Nyakana Richard’s “KANA FARM” a model farmer in Rwengaju model village Kabarole District where he led a delegation of inter-religious leaders from Kigezi sub-region. The delegation included leaders from Anglican Church, Roman Catholic, Pentecostals and Muslims.Mr. Richard Nyakana who owns a model farm on a 1.3 Acre piece of land specializes in four pillars, food security, house hold income, value addition and marketing and home improvement and hygiene.Nyakana through his farm is able to earn UGX 17 Million per month through poultry, dairy and milk production.According to Mr. Tayebwa, this tour came from a meeting which Kigezi leaders had with president Museveni a few months ago at state house, on how the government can work with religious institutions utilize their idle land to fight poverty.They came from Kigezi purposely looking at solutions to solve challenges of shortage of land, food shortage, over population and learn how to utilize a one acre piece of land to fight poverty as emphasised by president Museveni.After the tour, Bishop of Kigezi Diocese Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna and Bishop Kinkizi Diocese Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka were pleased with how Mr. Nyakana is making fortunes on a such small land and pledged to go home and put into practice what they have learnt, and extend the same message to their followers.
