Former Uganda Cranes utility player Musa Mudde has come out of retirement to rejoin his former club, UPDF FC for a third stint, on a season-long contract.
The 34-year-old had initially hung up his boots at the end of the 2022/2023 season to pursue a career in coaching, but was persuaded by UPDF FC to reverse his decision.
Mudde brings a wealth of experience to the Army side, having played 48 matches for the Uganda Cranes and scoring 4 goals. His leadership and guidance will be invaluable in mentoring the team’s young players.
A versatile player who can operate as a defensive midfielder or across the backline, Mudde has had a storied career with stints at several clubs, including Sofapaka, Simba SC, AFC Leopards, Bandari, Gokulam Kerala, Tirur, and Muhammedan.
Mudde’s return to UPDF FC is a significant boost to the team, and he joins a list of new signings that includes Ssekitoleko Denis, Samson Kigozi, Johnson Odongo, Joseph Janjali, Ocen Emmanuel, Kitara Daniel, and Opio Daniel.
