Paul Nkata Unveiled as Kagera Sugar Head Coach

Tanzanian Premier League side Kagera Sugar has officially announced Ugandan coach Paul Nkata as their new head coach.

Nkata steps in as the immediate replacement for Francis Baraza, who recently vacated the position.

The experienced Ugandan tactician has signed a two-year contract with Kagera Sugar, marking his return to the dugout after his last stint with Kenyan side Muhoroni Youth.

Nkata brings a wealth of experience to Kagera Sugar, having previously managed several top Kenyan clubs including Wazito, Kakamega Homeboyz, Nairobi City Stars, Tusker FC, and Bandari FC.

Notably, he led Tusker FC to victory in the 2016 Kenya Premier League, solidifying his reputation as a capable and strategic coach.

His coaching career also includes significant contributions to Ugandan football, where he has managed clubs like SC Villa, Mbarara City, URA FC, Kiira Young, and Masaka FC.

Kagera Sugar is also home to Ugandan defender Deus Bukenya and midfielder Nicholas Kasozi, who will now work under the guidance of their compatriot.

In preparation for the upcoming season, Kagera Sugar is set to play an international friendly against Ugandan Premier League side Wakiso Giants, offering Nkata an early opportunity to evaluate his squad.
