Commissioned trainersBy Richard Tumwebaze.In Mitoomawww.mknewslink.comIn a bid to improve house hold income and productivity through farming in Mitooma district, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation in partnership with Rain Business Development Agency have today commissioned over 100 trained farmers under Inclusive Livestock Development for small holder Farmers to act as trainers of all farmers to ensure high productivity in farming.
According to Lamuel Ahabwe from Rain Business Development Agency, they got in partnership to train farmers as they implement the Inclusive Livestock Development For mall Holder farmers.He adds that after one year, farmers in the sub counties of Mayanga, Kabira, Mutara and Rurehe were trained in areas of using modern farming and house hold development, and have been today commissioned.
Ahabwe further noted that with the training got, people in the area will be able to have a change in mindset towards family development.
Severino Mabanja, who was the focal person of this programme in Mitooma district noted that though these farmers have been commissioned, they still have a lot to do in training their fellows so that the entire sub county becomes inclusive .
Speaking on the same function , Monday Swaibu Lwanga, the Mitooma district Production Officer noted that such a program that is aimed at mindset change will improve food security and finance hence development of the entire district.
Delivering his speech as the chief guest, Henry Natukwatsa the Mitooma district Principal Chief Administrative Officer noted that the sustainability of this programme is in the hands of the residents and is a supportive arm to the government to eradicate poverty.
