After months of evading capture, Lujja Bbosa Tabula, the main suspect in the high-profile murder of former Ndiga clan leader Engineer Daniel Bbosa, is finally in police custody. Tabula was apprehended on August 19 in Kimelika-Namulonge, Busikuma, by the police’s crime intelligence squad, bringing an end to a lengthy manhunt.

Engineer Bbosa, a 72-year-old director of Transa Electrical, was brutally gunned down on February 25 in Kikandwa Lungujja, Rubaga Division, as he approached his home. The case sparked widespread outrage, and President Museveni even awarded a bravery medal to Abdul Katabaazi, a plumber and boda boda operator who witnessed the shooting and pursued the assailants.

Despite the initial arrests of five suspects, Tabula remained at large, prompting the police to offer a Shs10 million bounty for his capture. The reward was later doubled to Shs20 million, but Tabula continued to evade arrest until now.

Police spokesperson Rusoke Kitumma confirmed the arrest, stating that Tabula is also wanted in connection with the discovery of human skulls at his residence in Mpigi. The exact connection between the murder and the human remains is still unclear, but authorities are exploring all possible leads.

Tabula is expected to face multiple charges, including murder and involvement in illegal activities related to the human remains. The police have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests as they continue to investigate the case.

The arrest brings a sense of relief to the family and friends of Engineer Bbosa, who have been seeking justice for months. As the case unfolds, Ugandans will be watching closely to see how justice is served.
