Yesterday, November 27th, 2025, Maj Gen (Rtd) Innocent Oula, the Deputy Managing Director of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), welcomed a delegation from the Nigerian Armed Forces Command and Staff College Senior Course 47 (SC 47) to NEC Headquarters in Bugolobi, Kampala.
The Nigerian delegation, led by Brig Gen NUC Ogil accompanied by Commander DM Bozegha l, Deputy Defence Attache, Addis accredited to Uganda, was on a study tour of Uganda, seeking to learn from the country’s experiences in leadership, development, and strategic planning.
Gen Oula warmly welcomed the delegation, highlighting NEC’s role as a business arm of the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MoDVA) and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
He emphasized that the visit offered an opportunity for knowledge sharing and exchange of experiences, particularly in areas that shape modern military effectiveness.
Strengthening Ties: NEC Hosts Nigerian Military Delegation
Gen Oula noted that the Nigerian Military Staff College is renowned for producing disciplined and forward-thinking leaders and that Uganda has benefited from Nigerian military schools and colleges.
The Deputy MD expressed confidence that the delegation’s visit would enrich their understanding of NEC’s military business systems, production processes, and organisational practices and how they contribute to national economic development.
He also highlighted NEC’s contributions to Uganda’s economy beyond its military-focused activities.
Gen Ogil conveyed gratitude from the Commandant of the Nigerian Military Staff College to UPDF and NEC for hosting the delegation.
He explained that the study tour was a routine exercise for the college, aimed at gathering information for research, and this year’s theme was on “Harnessing community initiatives for enhanced national security.”
Gen Oula presented an overview of NEC’s role in Uganda’s socio-economic transformation, showcasing the corporation’s efforts in food security, economy, and employment creation.
The visit underscored the importance of regional collaboration and knowledge sharing in addressing common security challenges, such as terrorism and insurgency.
The delegation’s visit to NEC was part of a broader tour of several countries, including Tunisia, Morocco, Ghana, and Mozambique, aimed at learning from best practices in national security and community-led initiatives.
