Lawyer Robert Ssenfuka Faces Forgery Charges in Alleged Scheme with Two Others

Published

on

A city lawyer, Robert Ssenfuka has been accused of colluding with two businessmen to forge company documents among them a business venture agreement.

Ssenfuka of SK and Partners Advocates is jointly accused with two others; Mathew Birungi and John Tumusiime a businessman, both residents Nansana and Senge respectively in Wakiso District.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango confirmed the development revealing that police detectives are investigating the circumstances under which the accused persons committed the alleged crimes.

“It is true we are investigating the cases against Ssenfuka and others. They jumped bond but the case file was sanctioned. We are appealing to that let him come and defend himself against these accusations,” Onyango said.

According to Onyango, the accused persons await to appear in court to answer to the charges related to forgery and uttering false documents.

According to the charge sheet, on October 12, 2024 at Nsalo Road, Old Kampala in Kampala District, Ssenfuka and Tumusiime conspired to commit a felony which is forgery of  a business venture agreement between Kwezi Construction Consult & Logistics and Tumusiime John which is contrary to Section 342, 345 and 347 of the Penal Code Act.

The state also contends that on July 10,2020 at Nsalo Road Old Kampala, Ssenfuka and Birungi forged a document of a Board of Directors’ resolution for Kwezi Construction Consult and Logistics Limited.

It is alleged that on July 20 2020 at Uganda Registration Services Bureau, George Street in Kampala, Ssenfuka and Birungi knowingly and fraudulently uttered a false document to wit a Board’s resolution of Kwezi Construction Consult and Logistics Limited dated July 10, 2019 purporting it to have been a result of a board of directors’ meeting of Kwezi Construction Consult and Logistics Uganda Limited whereas not.

Ssenfuka is also facing a separate case of alleged forgery of sale agreements for Kibanja in Katanga near Wandegeya. He is jointly accused with fellow lawyer Umar Nyanzi and they are yet to appear in court to plead to the charges.

It is alleged that the lawyers Ssenfuka and Nyanzi attached to SK & Partners Advocates while acting for and on behalf of their client, Dr Ntwatwa Lule committed criminal acts.

Through a private prosecutor on behalf of Pr Daniel Walugembe, the accused lawyers allegedly forged the said sales agreements to alter original and authentic agreements drawn by the parties when the complainant was purchasing his Kibanja on Katanga land in 1996.

According to court records,  Ssenfuka and Mr Nyanzi forged Pr Walugembe’s agreement of February 9, 1996 and that August 13 1996 to indicate MTN telephone numbers of him (Walugembe) and his lawyer as well as bearing Land Act Cap 227 as the law under which the agreement was executed in 1996 yet it did not exist but alter the authentic agreements acquired by  Walugembe.

Court documents indicate that the accused lawyers are alleged to have committed forgery, uttering false documents and conspired to commit a felony when knowingly and unlawfully altered sales agreements dated February 9, 1996 and August 13, 1996 respectively.

Efforts to get a comment over the allegations from the accused persons were fruitless as Ssebuufu’s known telephone numbers were not going through.
