PFF LAUNCHES ITS MANIFESTO IN RUKUNGIRI DISTRICT URGING PEOPLE TO REJECT THE RULING PARTY NRM.

The President of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) and Kampala Lord Mayor, Elias Lukwago, has urged voters in Rukungiri District to reject National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates, accusing them of remaining silent while their own son, Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, is imprisoned “for no crime committed.”Lukwago made the remarks on December 11 during the launch of the PFF manifesto at Rukungiri Main Stadium in Rukungiri Municipality.He called on the electorate to support opposition candidates, particularly those aligned with Dr. Besigye, who is currently incarcerated in Luzira Prison on treason and misprision of treason charges. Lukwago told supporters that Uganda needs urgent political change and encouraged citizens to recognize Dr. Besigye’s long-standing commitment to advocating for democratic reforms.The PFF Western Region Vice Chairperson and Kabale Municipality MP, Dr. Nicholas Thaddeus Kamara, urged residents to back PFF candidates as a way of fighting bribery and honoring Dr. Besigye’s long struggle for Uganda’s political freedoms.PFF spokesperson and Secretary General, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, accused President Yoweri Museveni of running the country as personal property and emphasized the need for fair distribution of national resources. Ssemujju, who also serves as Kiira Municipality MP, said leaders must remain accountable to the citizens and ensure that taxpayers’ money is used responsibly.He added that the PFF seeks to ensure Ugandans receive value from the taxes they pay, and encouraged veterans in Rukungiri to vote thoughtfully in shaping the country’s future.The PFF flag bearer for Rukungiri Municipality, Ingrid Turinawe Kamatenenti, urged supporters to stay committed to the party’s mission and not be swayed by financial inducements. She called on voters to elect leaders with proven integrity, highlighting her own long-standing service to the community.Rukungiri District PFF Chairperson, Aloysius Mugarura, said the party is determined to win parliamentary and council seats across the district. He noted that their goal is to “fight for the freedom of Rukungiri and Uganda at large” while improving service delivery.Rukungiri District has nominated 314 PFF candidates for various positions.
