Industrial City Division Mp Masaba Defends Parliamentary Record Seeks Re-election Ahead Of The 2026 Polls

The aspirant and incumbent Member of Parliament for Mbale Industrial City Division, Karim Masaba, has defended his record in Parliament, saying no one can claim that he has failed to speak out or fight for the people of Mbale City as he seeks re-election.Masaba made the remarks on Tuesday morning while meeting over 400 campaign coordinators in the constituency at his newly constructed multimillion home in Maluku Adra. He said he has consistently raised concerns on the floor of Parliament about challenges facing the young people working at the Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, inadequate health facilities, poor education system, and the state of roads and bridges in the division.“There is no health centre or school where I have not extended my support, and I have continually raised issues of roads and bridges in this division in Parliament expressing optimism that eventually will be worked on,” Masaba said. He urged his coordinators to be honest with voters, If we are looking for votes, let us tell our people the truth about what we are going to do for them. We shouldn’t be like other aspirants who deceive people that all roads in the division will be worked on in one year if electex. That is just politics for votes. He also highlighted his support to the health sector, citing the donation of mattresses and other items to facilities such as Busamaga Health Centre III, Namatala Health Centre III, and additional support to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital and drilling of boreholes to provide clean water in some areas. Masaba appealed to his coordinators to maintain discipline during the campaign period and to advocate for peaceful elections ahead of January 15, 2026, as he seeks another mandate to continue serving the constituency.Several coordinators praised Masaba’s performance. Caroline Atai, popularly known as Mama Nabulo, a coordinator from Namatala Ward, expressed gratitude, saying that in just one term, Masaba has supported women’s saving groups and initiated a poultry project for them that now has about 500 chicken.Miley Namono, a retired teacher from Kisoga Taufiq Mosque in Bugema, said Masaba has empowered many youths along Busano Road through capati-making projects that have helped them earn a living. He also credited the MP for raising issues affecting Mbale City in Parliament, including recent power outages.“If you go to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, you will find an oxygen plant. We believe that without his efforts, together with his friends, the situation would have been much worse,” Namono added.
