Police at Kira Road have launched investigations into a case of aggravated robbery and murder by strangulation following the death of a young woman in Kampala.
The incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday morning at an unknown time in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward, Kawempe Division, a suburb of Kampala City.
The deceased has been identified as Namulinde Diana, alias Diana Skyz 24, a businesswoman and social media content creator who was living alone in an apartment in Kyanja.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, the body was discovered on Wednesday, 2026, after friends became concerned and went to check on her, only to find the apartment open.
Owoyesigyire added that earlier the same day, police arrested a security guard attached to the premises after he was found in possession of items suspected to have been stolen. Some of the recovered items were later identified as belonging to the deceased.
A team of homicide detectives, together with Scene of Crime Officers, visited the scene and documented evidence. Several exhibits were recovered, and statements from relevant witnesses were recorded.
So far, three suspects have been identified, with two already arrested to assist with investigations. The body of the deceased was conveyed to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination, as the search for the third suspect continues.
