South Africa unlikely to host World Cup anytime soon: SA Rugby

South Africa (SA) will not be hosting a Rugby World Cup in the foreseeable future.
SA Rugby says that South Africa will never make enough money for World Rugby to justify hosting a World Cup tournament in the Republic.
This stark admission is based purely on economics and with that in mind, SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer, says it makes better business sense to establish the Springbok brand in markets that are able to host future World Cups, such as the United States of America.
The plan seems to be working as the fourth test in Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, against the All Blacks in Baltimore in September, is almost a sell out according to SA Rugby.
