The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the South African Communist Party (SACP) will establish a joint working group that will participate in preparations for a Conference of the Left through the establishment of a steering committee.
The SACP is planning a conference of the left that will, in their words, unite progressive forces, including trade unions, NGOs, and civil society.
The meeting reflected on several local and international issues, including the creation of a joint task team to assist Cuba, considering severe energy shortages in that country.
These were some of the outcomes of a bilateral meeting that took place between the two parties on Monday in Johannesburg.
The EFF’s delegation was led by the party’s President Julius Malema, whilst the SACP’s delegation was led by its general Secretary, Solly Mapaila.
