Mosiliki outlines her role in the disbandment of the PKTT – SABC News

Deputy National Police Commissioner responsible for policing, Lt General Tebello Mosikili, has outlined her role in the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) at the end of 2024.  
Described as the receiver in chief of the now infamous disbandment letter issued by Police Minister on special leave, Senzo Mchunu- 
Mosikili, who was the acting national commissioner at the time, appeared before the Ad Hoc Committee investigating alleagations raised by KZN Police Commissioner, Lt-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.   
She acknowledges that she was confused when she was alerted to the contents of the email.  
The emailed directive was issued by the Chief of Staff in the Police Ministry, Cedric Nkabinde, a figure central to the work of this committee.    
Her response to many of the questions was that she could not give definitive answers without being presented with facts, or an active investigation.  
But this question had her stumped.   
She was also accused of giving private investigator, Paul O’Sullivan, the space to infiltrate the criminal justice system.  
She says she got to know O’Sullivan,  when he gave her information about another matter.

Mosikili was asked many questions about allegations of corruption within the SAPS, and deficiencies in the system.  
When asked whether she believed the SAPS had been captured, the Deputy National Commissioner says the service was on the verge of being captured.  
Proceedings are expected to continue on Wednesday.
