Ndimande brothers seek bail in AKA murder case

The Ndimande brothers, accused of murdering rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motshoane – in a dramatic turnaround – informed the Durban Magistrate’s Court that they plan to apply for bail.
Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, through their lawyer, made the submission to court after earlier indicating that they wouldn’t seek bail.
He also indicated that he would apply to have the brothers transferred to Westville prison in Durban, from the Bongweni Super Max Correctional Facility in Kokstad.
The siblings were extradited from eSwatini late last year.
Forbes and Motshoane were shot and killed outside a restaurant in Durban’s Florida Road in February 2023.
The brothers also face multiple other charges, including that of murder in a separate case linked to the killing of a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti.
The matter has been postponed to the 10th of April for a formal bail application.
