O’Sullivan explains his financial support to McBride

Private investigator Paul O’Sullivan says his aim to offer financial support to former Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) boss Robert McBride was to eradicate corruption within the police.
O’Sullivan says most of the executive management within the police force and prosecution cannot be trusted to fight corruption and crime. He accuses them of being appointed wrongly.
He is testifying before the Ad Hoc Committee on allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the criminal justice system.
“The only possibility of starting somewhere to uncapture a captured state. I saw we won’t get anywhere when trying to uncapture the policy. We won’t get anywhere in uncapturing prosecution service. We had an unlawful appointed head of prosecution services Shaun Abrahams. We had an unlawful head of the police. We had an unlawful appointed head of the DPCI. We had an unlawfully suspended head of IPID, and the acting head of IPID was in cahoots with criminal syndicates that were involved in state capture. So, I was quite keen to see Mr McBride back at work. And hopefully it was kind of the last chance of trying to do something,” he says.
