US Homeland Security Secretary fired after months of controversy

US President Donald Trump has fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after months of controversy, including the fatal shootings of two US citizens by federal officers in Minneapolis. 
The Republican president will likely choose Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin to replace her by the end of the month.  
Trump announced his Truth Social platform. 
The appointment would require confirmation from the US Senate.
