Northern Cape police have arrested a 25-year-old alleged drug dealer in Upington and confiscated dagga worth over R400,000.
The suspect was apprehended during a routine patrol.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Thabo Litabe says the suspect will appear in court soon.
“Drug dealers were dealt a hard blow after police arrested a 25-year-old alleged dealer after discovering dagga worth an estimated R478,000 in his vehicle in Upington. When requested to produce his driver’s licence, the suspect failed to do so. While speaking to the driver, vigilant members detected a strong smell of dagga emanating from the vehicle. They subsequently conducted a search and discovered multiple bags of dagga loaded inside his vehicle,” says Litabe.
