Police presence bolstered in Kalksteenfontein after shooting incident


Police presence has been bolstered in the Kalksteenfontein area near Bishop Lavis on the Cape Flats.
This follows a shooting incident in which three people were killed and four others wounded in the area on Thursday night.
The incident is suspected to be gang-related. Two of the deceased victims are elderly men.
Police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa, says Western Cape police have bolstered deployments in the Bishop Lavis area following the shooting incident.
“The additional deployment is aimed at ensuring that no further incidents occur. Anti-gang units are investigating the incident in which a group of men were sitting outside a residence in Kalksteenfontein drinking, and a vehicle is alleged to have stopped, three gunmen emerged and fired shots at the group,” adds Potelwa.
