Shibiri says he doesn’t know of ‘Cat’ Matlala’s Big 5 cartel links

Suspended South African Police Service organised crime head Major-General Richard Shibiri has testified that he doesn’t know if attempted murder accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala is part of the Big Five criminal cartel.
SAPS Crime Intelligence Head, General Dumisani Khumalo has previously testified that Matlala is a member of the Big Five cartel.
Shibiri told evidence leader Advocate Lee Seegels-Ncube that Matlala was however linked to late taxi boss Jonathan ‘Mswazi’ Msibi, a member of the Big 5, because he provided him with security.
Shibiri: I don’t know. But I know he was providing security for the late Mswazi.
Seegels-Ncube: So, you knew that Mr. Matlala is somebody that originates from the late Mswazi?
Shibiri: No, I know he provided service to Mr. Mswazi.
Seegels-Ncube: Linked to, okay, so he has a link to Mr. Mswazi. Providing services for him.
Shibiri: Yes.
