The Madlanga Commission has heard an in camera application from the attorneys of Witness G, a new witness.
Witness G, who works with police informers, is believed to have been Brown Mogotsi’s handler.
His attorney Tshepo Matlala has made a request to chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga that Witness G’s testimony be heard in camera through an intermediary.
Matlala has cited safety concerns as the reason for the application.
Justice Madlanga will hand down the order of the application in due course.
The Commission adjourned until Monday.
Matlala: So, what we’re asking for, in principle, is for the evidence to be given remotely. However, it can be broadcast and remotely and off camera.
Madlanga: Remotely and off camera?
Matlala: Yes, that’s correct, Chair. Remotely and off camera. And if it is possible, we’d also request for, if the technology, if, I mean, if the commission is in possession of this technology, voice altering technology.
