Paul Mashatile to deliver eulogy at Lekota’s funeral

Deputy President Paul Mashatile will deliver the eulogy at the funeral of the Congress of the People’s (COPE) co-founder Mosiuoa Lekota the Old Grey Sports ground in Bloemfontein this morning.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has accorded Lekota a Special Official Funeral Category two. Lekota’s comrades from the ANC, COPE and the Black Consciousness Movement are expected to attend the funeral.
Lekota died earlier this month in a hospital in Johannesburg at the age of 77.

Comrades, family and friends will bid farewell to one of their own, Mosiuoa Lekota later this morning.
Speakers will include his former comrades in the UDF Trevor Manuel and Popo Molefe, the ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula and his party’s interim leader Teboho Loate.
Other dignitaries will include former President Thabo Mbeki whom he served under as Defence Minister and as the National Chairperson in the ANC . And his death should unite South Africa as ANC’s Nomvula Mokonyane wishes.
Lekota is survived by his wife and seven children.
