The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaZulu-Natal has lambasted the African National Congress (ANC) in the eThekwini Municipality for failing to resolve the water crisis in the region despite President Cyril Ramaphosa’s intervention, last month.
The DA has set its target on winning key municipalities such as Umhlathuze and eThekwini in the upcoming local government elections. The party announced Umhlathuze Deputy Mayor Christo Botha as its mayoral candidate in the municipality that incorporates Richard’s Bay.
STOP THE DRY TAPS NOW!
Communities cannot live with dry taps while government fails to act. The DA demands the water funds to be protected & used for infrastructure maintenance.
Tag your mayor & demand action to fix the water crisis.

Provincial leader Francois Rodger says they have the best chance to win the most votes in these municipalities.
“The ANC, even under the intervention of the Presidential Task Team, has failed in its mandate to supply water to residents of eThekwini. It is our job, your job, Haniff Husain’s job, and the job of our campaign teams on the ground to convince voters that if they want to rescue eThekwini, it is only the DA that can do so,” says Rodger.
