Buganda Schools: Greenlight Lowers STAHIZA Standards by Four as Buddo Get off the Highway in Kiganda

By Kayiira Jackson
Buddo Secondary School and Greenlight Islamic Secondary School will face off in the final of the Buganda Schools Football Boys’ tournament after both sides registered convincing semifinal victories at Kawanda SS.
Greenlight Islamic SS produced a dominant performance to defeat Standard High School–Zana 4-1 in an entertaining encounter.
Standard High School Zana, who had earlier eliminated St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School in the quarterfinals, took an early lead through Daniel Mugisha, who struck in the second minute to give his side a dream start.
However, Greenlight Islamic quickly recovered and turned the game around with an impressive attacking display. Simon Okwi led the charge with a brilliant brace, while Elvis Kimuli and Mark Dandali each added a goal to seal a commanding 4-1 victory.
In the other semifinal played earlier at Kawanda SS, last year’s losing finalists Buddo SS delivered a ruthless performance, thrashing Highway Secondary School Kiganda 4-0.
Baaba Francis opened the scoring for Buddo before Ambrose Aboi doubled the lead. Kusamba Abaasa and Geoffrey Nyonyintono also found the back of the net to complete the emphatic win.
The results set up an exciting final between Buddo SS and Greenlight Islamic SS, with both teams aiming to lift the Buganda Schools football crown.
The tournament will climax tomorrow at Kawanda Secondary School, where the two sides will battle for supremacy.
