A member of the Gauteng organised crime unit, referred to as Witness F, returns to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Monday morning to continue with cross-examination.
Witness F, whose real name is Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, could not proceed with his testimony last month after he was hospitalised.
Nkosi sought to avoid testifying in person and filed a High Court application to block the reading of WhatsApp messages found on his device at the Madlanga Commission.
Sergeant Nkosi, who’s also known as Witness F, has linked suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner General Shadrack Sibiya to attempted murder accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
He is also believed to be the link between General Sibiya and murder accused Katiso “KT” Molefe.
Sergeant Nkosi has testified about how General Sibiya instructed him to invite Matlala to an event at his home in 2024.
The event was also attended by the suspended organised crime head, Major-General Richard Shibiri.
Sergeant Nkosi is believed to be the middleman between high-ranking police officials and members of the alleged criminal cartel.

Meanwhile, the suspect arrested over the weekend in connection with the killing of former Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officer Marius van der Merwe is expected to appear in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court east of Johannesburg on Monday.
Police also seized a vehicle believed to have been used on the day of the killing.
Van der Merwe was referred to as Witness D when he testified before the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria last year.
He was shot dead in the presence of his family in December.
The incident happened shortly after he testified about corruption and a covered-up killing, which is alleged to have involved senior EMPD officials.
