Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi returns to Parly’s Ad Hoc Committee

KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi will this Wednesday morning return to testify before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee.
Mkhwanazi, who was the first witness to testify before the committee, will also be the last.
The committee is investigating allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.
Mkhwanazi made the allegations in a media briefing in Durban in July last year.
The committee has resolved to call him back to respond to questions on matters that have arisen during its hearings.
On Tuesday, National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola told the Ad Hoc Committee that President Cyril Ramaphosa agreed with him that the National Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) must be dismantled gradually.
In addition, he says he appealed to the President to approach Minister Senzo Mchunu, who is currently on special leave, regarding his directive to disband the PKTT immediately.
Mchunu was placed on special leave after allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.
