Accused number two in the former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa murder trial Bongani Ntanzi speaks to his lawyer.

State to resume scrutinising Ntanzi’s bank records in Meyiwa trial

The state in the former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa trial is expected to zoom in on accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi’s bank transactions for October 2014, when he was murdered.
He has been under cross-examination at the High Court in Pretoria for Meyiwa’s murder.
Ntanza claims he was in KwaZulu-Natal on the day Meyiwa was killed.
He also mentioned that he acquired a loan as he had to perform traditional ceremonies at his home during that time.
However, State Prosecutor George Baloyi says the bank transactions around the period of the killing do not support his alibi.
Baloyi says, “And after the 24th of October 2014, up to the 31st of October 2014, you’ll see that there are no transactions there. Do you agree?”
Ntanzi replies: “I see it, hence I am saying that it would be difficult for me to respond on this statement because there are many things that I see here that are not the truth.”
