The South African men’s and women’s cricket teams have taken a beating at the hands of their New Zealand counterparts in the third T20 international in Auckland.
The Proteas women, who played first in the double-header, lost by six wickets after managing 149 for seven in their 20 overs.
In reply, the White Ferns hit the winning runs with eight deliveries remaining. Kiwi all-rounder, Sophie Devine was not out on 55.
The men also struggled against the New Zealand bowling attack. They were restricted to 136 for nine, with Nqobani Mokoena’s unbeaten 26.
In the chase, the Black Caps lost only two wickets as Tom Latham steered the hosts to victory. He was not out on 63. New Zealand now lead the series 2-1.
The fourth encounter between the sides will take place in Wellington on Sunday.
