Saulsville residents call for army deployment amid rising crime

Residents in Atteridgeville, particularly Saulsville, west of Pretoria, are calling for the army to urgently be deployed in the area.
Locals say crime has been escalating significantly in recent months.
In December last year, heavily armed gunmen attacked a tavern and a local hostel resulting in 12 people being killed including three children.
Locals say the police are not doing enough to protect the community.
“It is necessary for the soldiers to come here so that they may search for weapons and firearms,” says one of the residents.
