ActionSA to lay charges against McKenzie over alleged threats

ActionSA is to lay charges against Sports, Art and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie accusing him of threatening their party’s MP Dereleen James.
The row started when James questioned McKenzie’s travel expenses and Kenny Kunene’s alleged links to crime figure Katiso Molefe.
McKenzie had accused James of spreading lies about him during a live stream on social media, but has denied making threats.
ActionSA National Chairperson Michael Beaumont says, “It has been interpreted as a threat not just by Action SA but by people who have been engaging in the online discussions around these things.â€
“I understand the context, Gayton McKenzie and his organisation have a background that really does bring into question when remarks like this are made.â€
Beaumont adds, “There has been allegations of their organisation being involved in criminal activity and it’s not taken lightly by people like Dereleen James, who has spent her entire life fighting against this kind of criminal element.â€
