Several SAPS Generals to appear in court over rogue Medicare tender

Several senior police officers, including Generals, are expected to appear at Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday on corruption charges relating to the awarding of the multi-million rand Medicare contract by the South African Police Service.
Their arrests Tuesday night follow investigations into alleged irregularities in the procurement process, with reports that some of the officers formed part of the bid evaluation committee.
It is also alleged that a former senior employee of the incarcerated businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala has also been arrested.
