AFCON Qualifiers Group K Table Standing;

Uganda (4 Points)

South Africa (4 Points)

Congo (3 Points )

South Sudan (0 Points)

South Africa defeated South Sudan 3-2 in Juba to register their first win in the ongoing Morocco 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.

The Bright Stars lights in the campaign are still dim, as they haven’t won any but lost both of their two matches played so far, to sit bottom of group K, that also has Uganda and Congo Brazzaville.

Uganda still lead the table with four points, same as South Africa, but the Cranes have a superior +1 goal difference over Bafana Bafana. Congo is third and South Sudan last of the four teams.

At the Juba National Stadium on Tuesday, Tito Okello scored in the 15th minute to put South Sudan ahead. The striker converted from the spot after he was brought down in the forbidden area.

South Africa responded almost immediately, equalizing through Oswin Apollis in the 17th minute – just two minutes after Okello’s opener for the hosts.

In the second minute added onto the first 45, Oswin scored his second goal of the day to put the visitors ahead, just right before the referee blew his whistle for the halftime break.

Just three minutes into the second half, South Sudan equalised, through Kuach Yuel in the 58th minute.

South Sudan held onto the 2-2 result until the fifth minute of stoppage time, when second half substitute Thalente Mbatha scored to secure the hard earned 3-2 win for Bafana Bafana.
