Africa Junior School Introduces Annual Football Tourney

Africa Junior School Bulenga is set to host the inaugural ‘Emiti Emito’ Football Tournament on August 10, 2024, at its school premises.

This new primary school football tournament aims to nurture young talents from schools in regions of Bulenga, Nankuwadde, Buloba, Natete, and Kikaaya.

During the launch event at the school, Head Teacher Magumba Hatim emphasized the importance of the tournament for the local community. “We have organized the Emiti Emito Football Tournament to improve the talent of our young children. It will be held at Africa Junior School on August 10 for children under the age of 13.”

“The tournament is free of charge, and I encourage all head teachers from the surrounding schools to register their teams.

“We have excellent facilities, and we invite sponsors to join us in this annual event. At Africa Junior School, we aim to produce well-rounded children, focusing on both academics and sports because we know sports can be very rewarding.”

The school’s football coach Adam Masembe echoed these sentiments, highlighting the significance of the tournament: “This is a fantastic initiative, especially for schools in this area. It will provide much-needed exposure for young children, as this age group is where football skills are developed. This tournament will showcase the talent in our region.”

He revealed: “At Africa Junior School, we start training children from the age of five. We are dedicated to maintaining the school’s reputation for excellence in football. We are prepared for tough competition and will strive to come out victorious.”

On it’s debut, the organisers target to start with about 10 schools, and deadline for Registration has been set on August 7th.
