Against All Odds, Ssemakadde Wins ULS Presidency – Ultimate News
In the news this evening, city lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde also known as the Legal Rebel has won the highly contested Uganda Law Society presidency beating his two learned friends in the polls that took place today at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Ssemakadda who ran his campaign under the theme Back on Track with Decolonization, Demilitarization, Democratization and Digital transformation got him the favor getting a lot of endorsements from senior lawyers including Retired Justice Prof George Kanyeihamba and the Makerere University Joint Staff Associations (MUASA,MASA and NUEI)
He beat his two learned friends Keneth Kipaalu and Isaac Atukunda with a big margin. He showed a clear dissatisfaction with Attorney General Mr. Kiryowa Kiwanuka without mincing his words. Ssemakadde gerned over 2000 votes while his closest competitor Atukunda got 920 votes and the third candidate Keneth Kipaalu got less than 100 votes.

Alongside the elections, the Uganda Law Society is also having it’s Annual General Assembly with 1000s of lawyers coming together to discuss matters for their society. He now takes over from Bernad Oundo who has been led the society two terms of one year since September 2022.
This Rasta Lawyer Ssemakadde’s campaign drew attention of even non-lawyers to follow up with the elections something that has never happened in recent years.
