ALL UGANDA’S TOWN CLERKS HOSTED IN BUSHENYI ISHAKA MUNICIPALITY

By Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante[MK]In Bushenyiwww.mknewslink.com ——–Bushenyi Ishaka municipality has hosted all town clerks in Uganda in their umbrella organization Town clerks Association of Uganda.According to their national chairperson who is also the town clerk Kira municipality Mr Yiiga, the annual general assembly will take two days Yesterday Feb 5 and today Feb 6, 2026.The meeting concluding today was attended by many dignitaries who included the minister of local government Rapheal Magyezi, PS Ministry of local government Ben Kumumanya, Head of public service Ms Nakyobe RDC Bushenyi and CAO Bushenyi among others.While welcoming the town clerks to Bushenyi Ishaka municipal mayor, Richard Byaruhanga assured them of safety while in the municipality and advised visit some of the tourism sites like Kabagarame pork market among others.He added that this an opportunity for his municipality to receive a lot of money through services like hotels, food and drinks.Mr. Ben Kumumanya the PS ministry of local government advised town clerks to discuss setting up bylaws on garbage, tree planting and beautification.He hailed Jinja city and Kiira municipality for leading in revenue collection in the whole country.The minister of local government Rapheal Magyezi revealed that he will not extend again the LC elections because the extensions he has made are enough. He said he has already spoken to PS ministry of finance to avail money for the LC elections.He added that his ministry will increase money for PDM in bigger parishes but discouraged the split of these bigger parishes as its being pushed by residents.He called upon the town clerks to avoid conflicts with the political leaders and always visit one another to bench mark on best practices.
