As rains lash across Johannesburg, caution is urged

The Johannesburg Emergency Services is urging motorists and residents to exercise caution as rainy conditions persist across most parts of the city.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned of inclement weather with showers and thundershowers are expected on Sunday in most parts of the province.
Johannesburg EMS Spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says they remain on high alert.
“We have not yet recorded any major incidents in all regions of the city. So, we continue to plead with our motorists to continue to exercise caution while driving, extend a safe following distance, avoid crossing flooded roads. We are pleading with residents from low laying areas to avoid crossing river streams,” says Mulaudzi.
