AUCP expect Ramathuba to outline plans to protect faith organisations

The African Union Churches of Parliament (AUCP) says it expects Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba to outline plans to protect the faith-based organisations in her State of the Province Address today.
AUCP general secretary, the Archbishop Tendani Tshikhakhisa, says they are concerned about the Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Rights Commission’s proposed legislation.
He says it could restrict the way faith-based groups, including churches, practice their faith.
Tshikhakhisa was speaking ahead of the address in Polokwane.
“We expect her to protect the faith, because as a faith-based organisation, we believe that God is first with everything and everything follows. I believe Dr Phophi Ramathuba, the Premier, will protect the churches and maybe do away with the regulations that are proposed.”
