betPawa Provides Support To Jinja Referral Hospital
Leading gaming brand betPawa has stepped up to support the mental health unit at Jinja Referral Hospital by donating essential equipment to improve patient care.
This is timely as the world gears up for World Mental Health Day on October 10th.
The Jinja Referral Hospital has been providing critical mental healthcare since the government decentralized these services to referral hospitals in 2010.
To enhance the hospital’s capacity to serve the increasing number of patients, betPawa has donated hospital beds, mattresses, bedsheets, patient uniforms, and sandals.
These items will be utilized in the mental health unit to improve patient comfort and care.

“We are committed to supporting the provision of quality mental healthcare, which is a universal right,” said Ivy Igunduura, betPawa’s Country Marketing Manager.
“As we approach World Mental Health Day, we recognize that delivering these essential services is not solely the responsibility of the government.
“It requires a collective effort to ensure that everyone in need can easily access mental health care.”

The hospital management reported a 4.9% decrease in the number of patients at the mental health unit between 2023 and 2024, suggesting that ongoing mental health awareness campaigns are beginning to make a positive impact.
Despite this progress, thousands of people in the region still depend on the services provided by the Jinja Referral Hospital’s mental health unit each year.
