Big Miracle!! From Being An Office Cleaner to Director Of A Ugandan Company, Fatia From Kasese Shares Her Journey of Promotion – The East Observer
Life can change in the blink of an eye, and for Fatia, a lady from Kasese, Uganda, it certainly did. Today, she holds the title of Director at a major Ugandan company, but just a few years ago, she was sweeping floors and dusting desks as an office cleaner. Her remarkable journey of promotion is one that she attributes to hard work, persistence, and a surprising twist—an encounter with Mugwenu Doctors, traditional healers who played a pivotal role in helping her reach new heights.
Fatia’s story begins humbly. Born and raised in Kasese, she had always been an ambitious girl, but life had other plans. After completing her secondary education, Fatia found herself in a situation familiar to many young Ugandans: unemployed, with few opportunities in sight. Determined to support her family, she took on the only job available at the time—an office cleaner at a local business.
“At first, it was difficult to accept,” Fatia recalls. “I had dreams of making a big difference, but here I was, cleaning floors and taking out the trash. It was hard work, and sometimes I felt invisible. But I reminded myself that everyone has to start somewhere.”
For two years, Fatia faithfully worked as a cleaner, always arriving early and leaving late, hoping her efforts would be noticed. Despite the mundane nature of the work, she maintained a positive attitude. Her superiors, however, seemed not to take notice of her dedication. Fatia’s frustration grew, but so did her resolve to make something of herself.
“I knew I had to do something different. I needed a way to stand out and show them that I was capable of more. But every time I applied for a promotion or a different position, I was turned down,” she says. “It was disheartening.”

One day, during a conversation with a close friend, Fatia was introduced to the idea of seeking help from Mugwenu Doctors. Her friend had heard stories about how they had assisted others in securing promotions and overcoming career obstacles. Though initially skeptical, Fatia felt she had nothing to lose. She made the decision to visit them.
“My friend had so much faith in them, so I thought, ‘Why not? If there’s something holding me back, maybe they can help remove it,’” she explains.
Upon visiting Mugwenu Doctors, Fatia was met with warmth and understanding. After a consultation, they performed a traditional ritual aimed at clearing any spiritual or career blockages. She was given instructions on how to carry herself and what to focus on moving forward. They assured her that if she continued working hard, her efforts would soon be rewarded.
“I remember leaving their place feeling lighter,” Fatia says. “It was as if a burden I didn’t even realize I was carrying had been lifted. I had a renewed sense of confidence and hope.”
A few months after her visit to Mugwenu Doctors, things began to shift. One day, Fatia’s company announced that they were looking for someone to manage an entirely new project. The position required strong organizational skills, dedication, and knowledge of the company’s operations—qualities Fatia had already demonstrated in her work as a cleaner. This time, instead of doubting herself, she confidently applied for the job.
“When I walked into that interview room, I felt different. I wasn’t just the cleaner anymore—I was someone who knew this company inside and out. I was ready to prove myself,” she recalls.

Fatia’s interview impressed the management team, and to her surprise, she was offered the position. It was a breakthrough moment. Over the next few years, she continued to rise through the ranks, eventually becoming the Director of the company—a role she could only have dreamed of during her days as a cleaner.
Reflecting on her journey, Fatia is quick to credit her hard work and perseverance, but she also acknowledges the role Mugwenu Doctors played in her rise.
“I believe in both the power of my own efforts and the help I received,” she says. “Without Mugwenu Doctors, I don’t know if I would have had the confidence or the clarity to push myself in the way I did. They helped open doors that had been shut for so long.”
Today, Fatia is an inspiration to many young Ugandans, particularly women, who look up to her story of resilience and determination. She often speaks to others about the importance of believing in oneself, seeking help when necessary, and never giving up on their dreams.
“When I think back to where I started, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. It’s a reminder that no matter where you are now, with hard work and a little faith, you can reach places you never thought possible,” she concludes.
