CAF postpones Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

Following months of uncertainty, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to postpone the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The event, scheduled to start on the 17th of March in Morocco, will now take place from the 25th of July to ensure the success of the tournament.
CAF did not give reasons for the postponement other than saying it was due to unforeseen circumstances.
Morocco indicated that it could not honour its hosting responsibilities due to the demands on the country’s stadia and infrastructure.
The men’s league and international friendlies are scheduled for March. But Morocco and CAF were also at odds following the Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat between the host country and Senegal earlier this year. Both teams received harsh sanctions after the match ended in chaos.
