Toronto’s reggae airwaves are set to blaze this Sunday as renowned Canada-based broadcaster Omusawo Tintah welcomes the celebrated Zimbabwean Afro-reggae artist Don Franco Tafari to his show Strictly Reggae Dancehall on www.xavieradioug.com.

Don Franco Tafari, born Lucas Francis Dumhi, is a South Africa–based artist whose unique sound fuses the rhythms of his Zimbabwean roots with the soul-stirring grooves of classic Jamaican reggae. With a musical career spanning over two decades, Tafari has earned his place as one of the most distinct voices in Afro-reggae fusion. His musical themes span unity, peace, spiritual empowerment, and African pride—messages that have earned him a loyal global following.

The artist’s breakout came with his hit track “Blaze Up the Fire,” which was featured on a school album compilation and launched his professional career. Over the years, he has collaborated with international icons like Turbulence, Gappy Ranks, Lutan Fyah, Protoje, and Jesse Royal, and shared stages with legends such as Mega Banton, Jah Mason, and more.

On Strictly Reggae Dancehall, Omusawo Tintah—known for his in-depth conversations and deep love for roots reggae and dancehall—will engage Don Franco Tafari on a range of topics, including the artist’s influences, cross-cultural musical journey, upcoming European tour, and his future projects. Tafari is currently preparing for his first European tour in 2025, which promises to introduce his electrifying stage presence and powerful messages to new audiences across the continent.

Tintah, affectionately referred to as “The Voice of Conscious Vibes,” has become a household name among reggae lovers in the Ugandan-Canadian community. His Strictly Reggae Dancehall show airs every Sunday on Xavieradio Toronto and has grown into a respected platform for both emerging and established reggae and dancehall talents.

With artists like Don Franco Tafari connecting Africa and the Caribbean through sound, and broadcasters like Omusawo Tintah championing conscious music on North American airwaves, the future of global reggae culture is in strong, vibrant hands.
