Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services say aerial support has again been roped in to help combat a fire raging between Hout Bay and Klein Constantia.
Fire spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, says the fire ignited on Tuesday in Hout Bay and reached the mountain ridge overnight towards Klein Constantia.
“Several flare-ups have been spotted, fanned by prevailing winds in the mountain areas. Helicopters will resume waterbombing after being withdrawn earlier today to try to quell the flare-ups and support ground crews. City Fire Services are on scene, along with ground crews from TMNP and NCC. No property is at risk”, Carelse says.
