Congolese music icon Awilo Longomba meets Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba ahead of concert
The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, welcomed Congolese soukous music legend Awilo Longomba to the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe on Monday afternoon.The meeting, which underscored cultural diplomacy, was also attended by the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, and the Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Richard Todwong.Awilo Longomba, widely known for his vibrant soukous hits such as “Karolina,” “Bundelele,” “Mobimba Ya Mama,” “Porokondo,” and “Champion,” is in Uganda to headline the “Afro-Exclusive” concert.The event, set for Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, will also feature Nigerian singer-songwriter Chike, celebrated for his hits “Running,” “If You No Love,” “Insecure,” and “Roju.”The meeting with Gen.
