City of Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero is expected to face yet another motion of no confidence vote when the metro council sits for its meeting on Thursday.
The motion has been tabled by the political party Al Jama-ah and other minority parties within the Johannesburg council.
The motion was delayed for a week to allow the speaker of the council to consult lawyers following a request that the voting be done through a secret ballot.
Executive Mayor of Johannesburg, Dada Morero, says the reasons for motion of no confidence filed by Minority Party Al Jamah and UDM, is not related to lack of service delivery in the City of Johannesburg. #MorningLive #SABCNews

The No Confidence Motion against Mayor Morero will be a test for the African National Congress (ANC) and Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) relationship, which has taken a knock following Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xakaza’s removal of EFF councillors from two MMC positions during his late-night mayoral committee reshuffle last week.
He has since replaced them with ANC councillors.
This has angered the EFF, which has vowed not to support the ANC during council and provincial legislature voting processes.
The ANC, EFF, Patriotic Alliance, Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) and other minority parties are leading a government of local unity in the City of Johannesburg council.
