Learn MoreThe charges stem from violence that erupted during the January 15, 2026 general elections.
Prosecutors allege that Kivumbi and the other accused orchestrated attacks on Kibibi Police Station and the Butambala Electoral Commission tally centre, resulting in the destruction of property, damage to vehicles, and the deaths of seven people.
Kivumbi and his co-accused have denied all the charges brought against them.
Their release on bail means they will continue to face trial while out of custody, subject to the conditions set by the court.
