Vinka Debunks Male-Dominated Industry Myth, Urges Women To Do Away With Excuses

Vinka says that the music industry has shifted a lot from the past and is now a female-dominated sphere, and she rules out the narrative that women have to work twice as hard as men to achieve big.

In an interview with Frank Ntambi, the Swangz Avenue artist noted that her 9-year music career has faced its fair share of challenges, but she does not give excuses and instead works very hard to achieve.
She noted that the industry has opportunities for all, and women must work as hard as anyone else and do away with the excuses about it being a male-dominated industry.
Feffe Bussi thrilled as Juliana Kanyomozi collaboration nears reality
It doesn’t cross my mind that the industry is male-dominated. I’ve never let the female narrative drive my hard work; maybe it’s because I was raised mostly around boys. And if you critically look at it, actually, the industry is not male-dominated. It’s dominated by females, currently, unlike in the past.

Female artists are making moves, but I don’t think as a female I have to work twice as hard; I don’t buy the narrative. I work like any other person without such excuses

Vinka will be holding her maiden concert on Friday, 21st August 2026 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
